Where the numbers come from
Every figure comes from a publication by a public authority or an association. We use media reports only to cross-check the numbers.
Figures we calculate ourselves, such as shares or "per day", are marked as "calculated", with the calculation shown.
Where sources contradict each other, we leave the number out. That is why this page has no figure for bike thefts in all of Switzerland: the reports we found give values that do not match.
Most annual figures are published in spring, and we update the page after that. Found a mistake? Message us on WhatsApp or by email.
